Valley Gardens to remain unfenced

Proposals by the Crown Estate to fence The Valley Gardens and introduce an element of entry charging, about which local concern has been raised, have been deferred. BBC NEWS | England | Berkshire | Terror police raid internet cafes

Terror police raid Slough internet cafes

Local youths may have been involved in the home grown terror plots recently uncovered. If that is the case, what does it tell us about disaffection?

Perhaps all we learn from these arrests that deprivation is not a major causes of disaffection in this country. There is also a report that one of the alledged bombers has only been muslim for 6 months. I suspect that his newfound religion was a symptom rather than a cause of his (again alledged) disaffection

Svengali Music Festival - CANCELLED 2006

Svengali Music Festival - CANCELLED 2006

Its not charity

Windsor residents have been receiving notes through their doors this week asking for unwanted clothes to be left on the doorstep for collection.

These requests do not come from a charity, but from a private company who then sell the clothes on for profit.

Rather than give away your old clothes to line a stranger's pockets, please take them to a bona fide charity shop (we have several in town) where their sale will do some good.
