Police were out in force in the Dedworth area of Windsor last night as 2 rival gangs of youths squared up to each other.
4 police cars and 1 police van were called to the Dedworth Road end of Vale Road around 9.00pm on Tuesday night where fighting and name calling between the teenage gangs had escalated to alarming levels. A band of more than 20 white youths and a smaller number of Asian teenagers were kept seperate for about 10 minutes by a strong police presence till the crowds dispersed.
Locals expressed shock and anger that the quiet streets of Windsor were being made unsafe by roaming bands of teens. One resident who wished to remain anonymous described the local youths as "moronic chavs with no respect for their neighbours".
