of Ascot, about five miles from Windsor. The drive between the two take
you through the stunning landscape of Windsor Great Park past vistas of
ancient oaktrees.

The Holiday Inn is about 2 miles north of Windsor conveniently sited for
the M4 which is how most people coming from London or Heathrow Airport
will arrive in the area.

Maidenhead is the next town upstream from Windsor and has its own Holiday Inn which is rated 4 stars. Easy drive between the two towns takes ten minutes. Busses and taxis are freely available and Maidenhead is actually quite pretty in itself with Boulter's Lock and Brunel's Bridge being particularly impressive.

The Christopher on Eton High Street, just a 2 minute walk from Windsor
Castle is another very charming old building, with with an excellent restaurant
and reputation for first class service. We particularly like the atmosphere
of their oak-panelled bar.

The Trooper is a classic public house offering nice accomodation at a
budget price that will really please you. A warm welcome is assured in
this lovely location just a short walk from the main shopping street in
the heart of Windsor town centre. The accomodation has been recently upgraded
and is seperate from the pub itself so it stays nice and quiet. Families
are more than welcome. Some excellent restaurants can be found just a
few minutes walk from the trooper.

Named after one of England's favourite Queens, this hotel is on Kings
Street, close to the Great Park and is noted for its fine Georgian frontage.
This hotel is very close to the entrance to Windsor Great Park.
Beaumont
House

3 miles from Windsor town centre, Beaumont House is a conference centre
style hotel with 40 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. A good choice
for weddings with its lovely Georgian looks.
Oakley
Court Hotel

A truly spectacular mock-gothic victorian mansion, built by the river
in the 1850s. Oakley Court was used in many 'Hammer House of Horror' films
in the 1960s. It is about 3 miles upstream from Windsor town centre. Oakley
Court boasts a well equiped gym and a small but enjoyable golf course.
A real delight in summer is the riverside garden.
Windsor is only a half hour down the M4 motorway from London's luxury hotels.
Heathrow is even close and there are a number of good hotels serving heathrow
