Brilliant Pub in Bray
A lovely old pub, caught on the horns of a dilemma. Since the 1930’s visitors from the upper end of the social spectrum have headed to the Hind’s head in Bray for a bit of local ‘rough’ action. Prince Phillip held his stag do here.
So, ordinary people who come to the Hinds Head find the staff and pub charming, but the rest of the clientelle, utterly unspeakable toffs.
More recently, the pub was bought by Heston Blumenthal, the celebrated chef. As a result, the menu here is argueably the finest pub food in the country.
In fact it won the Good Pub Guide award for best pub food in Berkshire two years running (2009 and 2010)
Forget the poncey cars out front and gome to the Hinds head for excellent beers, amazing food, and a thoroughly nice time.
One word of warning. The Hind’s head is haunted. The ‘Woman in White’ has spooked many people over the years.
