The cloud hanging over Bray for the last few months has gone and the sun is once more shining upon the
Fat Duck restaurant. The food poisoning outbreak that hit the headlines has been officially traced back to shellfish bought in good faith from a regular supplier. Therfore Heston's hard won reputation remains untarnished and guests have been flocking back to the Bray eaterie. Meanwhile in Windsor, AWT's deli on St Leonard's Rd was found to be shut just after 4.00pm on Friday last week, with no note on the door to explain this strange occurance. While looking around for information about why I was unable to get my regular wasabiu peanut fix, I discovered that restaurateur Antony Worrall Thompson is patron of the pro-smoking lobby group Forest. This seems such a strange thing for someone whose tastebuds are required to be in first class condition.

The Hinds Head inn at Bray, a few miles upstream from Windsor now offers a fantastically good value luntime meal deal of 2 courses for £15 or 2 courses for under £20.
The Hinds Head restaurant is owned by chef Heston Blumenthal who also owns the The Fat Duck in Bray. The Hinds Head is a lovely old pub serving really excellent food. The quality is stunningly good and the Hinds Head has earn many accolades in its own right. The pub is also quite historic and was even the venue for Prince Phillip's stag do many years ago.
