The food poisoning outbreak that hit the headlines has been officially traced back to shellfish bought in good faith from a regular supplier. Therfore Heston's hard won reputation remains untarnished and guests have been flocking back to the Bray eaterie. Meanwhile in Windsor, AWT's deli on St Leonard's Rd was found to be shut just after 4.00pm on Friday last week, with no note on the door to explain this strange occurance. While looking around for information about why I was unable to get my regular wasabiu peanut fix, I discovered that restaurateur Antony Worrall Thompson is patron of the pro-smoking lobby group Forest. This seems such a strange thing for someone whose tastebuds are required to be in first class condition.

Beer and jazz

Alexandra Park is hosting a beer and jazz weekend festival.

Get down to the riverside friday or saturday by the big wheel for real ale and cool sounds.

Local hospitals rated by NHS

Heatherwood and Wexham Park hospitals (Ascot and Slough) have both received a 'good' quality of service rating on the newly published online rating from www.NHS.UK

Both had a similar standardised mortality rate but statements such as
"MRSA blood infection rate 0.79 infections for every 10,000 bed days" are totally meaningless to the general public, so what are they being published for?

Without further guidance on interpretation this is meaningless data.

The Hinds Head offers discount lunch menu

The Hinds Head inn at Bray, a few miles upstream from Windsor now offers a fantastically good value luntime meal deal of 2 courses for £15 or 2 courses for under £20.

The Hinds Head restaurant is owned by chef Heston Blumenthal who also owns the The Fat Duck in Bray.
