Weddings and Wedding Venues in Windsor

Windsor is a great town to get married in. Alongside the churches of Windsor, The prime wedding venue in Windsor is the Guildhall on the High Street. Most notably the venue for Prince Charles' marriage to Camilla, the Guildhall is available to anyone. In fact, six months to the day before the royal wedding, my wife and I were married there.

More recently Sir Elton John used the Guildhall for his civil partnership ceremony to David Furnish.

The Guildhall Interior

Wedding Ceremony at the Windsor Guidhall

As you can see, the Guildhall has a splendidly elegant interior and provides the right sense of occasion for a wedding. It was originally completed by Sir Christopher Wren and is a classic of English period architecture. One issue to be aware of is that there is a flight of steps in the Guildhall and no lift, although there is a stair lift. If you want lots of wheelchair bound people to attend your wedding then make sure you are happy with the facilities before booking.
