A plan proposed at an Eton Community Association meeting to involve volunteers in tidying up the increadingly shabby Jubilee Square in Eton has been squashed by bureaucrats.

Eton Town Council’s insurers warned the council that the authority would have to carry out an expensive and time consuming pile of assessments before volunteers could give the square a clean up. Jubilee Square, as the name implies is Eton’s most recent addition and so the locals are naturally eager to keep it looking beautiful.
