On July 10th 2012 The Olympic Torch relay will include the town of Windsor in its route.
It is set to start from the junction of Vannsittart Road and Maidenhead Road by Windsor Boys School at 2.30pm. Then the route runs up Arthur Road (past Laithwaites) …
…and right at the big roundabout into Charles Street. The torchbearers will thrill to the views of the back of the shops on one side and the Ward Royal Estate on the other…
…but all too soon will turn left at the t-junction and left again into Peascod street. Crosses Corner or the Criterion will be great spots to witness the spectacle from.
Then it is up past Marks and Spencer, Ben and Jerrys and so on till they reach the High Street. A right turn takes the flame past the Guildhall and St George’s Church.

Then at the statue of the Guardsman they turn right into Sheet Street. The lucky torchbearer will be going downhill for a bit now, and the torch will carry on into King Street and get halfway to Old Windsor down Albert Road before they jump into a car and whizz it down to Egham for the next bit.
A spendid time is guaranteed for all.
