Alan Vincent, of Feltham, was jailed for six months yesterday at Reading Magistrates Court after killing a cat in Albert Street, Windsor, while on his rounds last year.
In March 2011 neighbours heard “meowing and screeching” as Vincent (38) repeatedly bashed the lid of his postal trolley down on Tiddy, a 14-year-old tortoiseshell cat. When confronted by shocked residents he threw the dying animal over a garden hedge and told them to ‘F*** off’.
Vincent was sacked from his job as a postal delivery worker and yesterday denied the offence in court. However magistrates did not believe his version of events and sentenced him to 6 months imprisonment for causing unnecessary animal suffering.
