Windsor Great Park is welcoming campers to stay during the summer of 2012. This very rare opportunity allows those visiting for the Olympic rowing and flat kayaking in Dorney to stay close to the event.
The Windsor Great Park Campsite will run from Friday 20 July to Thursday 16 August 2012, has 286 pitches and offers on site catering. Each pitch costs £40 per night and there is a minimum 3 night stay.
The site is adjacent to the Long Walk which links Windsor Castle and Snow Hill (the hill with the iconic copper horse statue of King George III). The walk from the campsite into town and Windsor Castle is 30 minutes, with Dorney being only 2 miles away.
An official Park and Ride hub will be in operation from Windsor Great Park for those with tickets using the campsite. Separate charges will apply for this facility.
Windsor Great Park is part of the Windsor Estate which also includes the Royal Landscape (Savill Garden, Valley Gardens and Virginia Water Lake) and Windsor and Swinley Forests.
